Joker

Joaquin Phoenix is so unequivocally and unrelentingly brilliant in Joker! What a chillingly depressing yet riveting watch...mindblown!

Rambo : Last Blood

If you thought John Wick and Tarantino's characters offered you raw unadulterated action, you should watch the gore in Rambo: Last Blood. Even Hannibal Lecter would be impressed! A perfect wrap up of the Rambo series.

Kesari

This movie is based on the Battle of Saragarhi, one of the lesser known battles of British India between 21 Sikh soldiers defending a fort against 10000 Afghans, the Indian version of the battle of Thermopylae. This movie got released just when I got enough of the series on the same topic on Netflix because it was too long. Notwithstanding the fact that the whole movie is engaging, the last 45 minutes stand out because of their brilliant picturization of the battle. Go watch it.

Captain Marvel

This is a back story and introduction to the character who receives Fury's SOS page at the end of Infinity Wars when Thanos turns most of creation to dust with a snap of his fingers. The mischievous Brie Larson fits perfectly into character as young Captain Carol Danvers and a younger Nick Fury and an even younger Coulson portrayed by Samuel Jackson and Clark Gregg. Marvel never disappoints. So you have to watch how Carol Danvers becomes Captain Marvel and saves the earth from a Kree attack and lays the foundation for the big encounter in Avengers : End Game. Then there is the cat; watch out for the cat!

The Accidental Prime Minister

This movie is a brilliant adaptation of Sanjaya Baru's tome on how the party didn't deserve Mr.Singh and vice versa; a genius who became the casualty of family drama as Baru puts it. What will leave you in awe is the impeccable casting and makeup. Short and crisp, this is a good watch.

The Mule

A Vietnam vet faces foreclosure of his horticulture business and decides to test waters of the drug trade by enrolling himself as a drug mule. Will that decision make him rich or result in him getting killed? Go watch the movie and find out. This movie doesn't have a big bang, whether at the start or at the end, but the experience that Clint Eastwood has in the industry just flows out of the screen, be it in acting or directing or both! A good watch.

Uri : The surgical strike

Based on the 2016 strikes by the Indian armed forces against the terrorist attacks at Uri, this is a high octane, fast paced movie. It is devoid of any Bolly melodrama and is spot on with the little details of how the other country's intelligence network also suffers pilferage of info. One thing is for sure, Vicky Kaushal is definitely the next rising superstar in Bollywood. So book your tix for this one.
